Removing muffler on 69 911- Help

Is it possible to remove the muffler on a 69 with out removing any of the bumper panels.
If not, how does the muffler come out. What has to be removed.
I had the muffler bolts and straps discconnected but it seems like there is not enough room to get the muffler out. It kind of seats inside of the rear panel of the bumper area.
Any help would be appreciated. Pics would help .
    Thanks in advance,
    Al

Just had mine out and back in last weekend. Had to joggle it around a little bot but she came out cleanly without removing any panels.

Removing the rear panel sometimes just makes it easier and clear about what is needed to remove the muffler. This open view also allows one to see the rear section of the engine for inspection and to clean debris out.

-That being said each bumper guard needs to be removed: two allen bolts top, one bottom.

-The the lower edges of the panel are held together with if I recall correctly are 13mm nuts and bolts. I found an extension on a socket helps in reaching the nut. Typically I believe the rear panel is separated from the each of the left and right rear lower fender skits with two washers, (two on each side).

    Hope this helps.

You should be able to remove the muffler without removing the license panel. Hopefully the last person to install it didn't put the support straps on backwards so that the bolt heads are catching on the license panel. If not then you should be able, with a putty knife, to slightly pry back the license panel to clear the muffler flange on the way down. If the support straps are on backwards then you'll need to slide them out of the way, then put them on properly upon reinstall.

Put a piece of duct tape folded lengthwise over the bottom lip of the panel so you don't blast the paint getting the muffler in and out.

Also, get yourself some long (4") M10 bolts, you can use these to cinch up the straps when they are far apart, then hold them with a ziptie, back the long bolts out and put the correct bolts in.

See the FWM for correct orientation of the bolts. You cannot see the bolt heads when the straps are properly installed.

    Thanks everyone for the responses.
304065, Sorry for the question but what is the FWM. Does anyone happen to have a picture of how the straps are supposed to be oriented.
The bolt heads are clearly visible on my car as they are towards the front of the muffler.
Thanks again for the help. It is my first early 911. Have had several other 911 but never a 69.
