Wondering what tricks there are to doing this. Would like to clean up my '68 washer tank, which is different than the later ones. I just read on a motorcycle forum that some people have used Bleche-Wite. Anyone else? Other ideas?

I've never found a way to return these plastic bottles to their original white color. The yellowing goes thru the plastic so I don't see how it would be possible to return it back to its' original white state. For cleaning and removing stains, I have found that the dishwasher works very well.
Dishwasher sounds like a pretty conservative approach, so I'll try that first. I assume there are no issues with warping from heat. I have a spare of the later style, so I can try that first.
Here's another possibility <retr0bright> that computer nerds came up with. It's for ABS computer cases, so I'm not sure it'll work on whatever the tank is made of. Maybe some chem-E nerds can comment (I'm only an ME nerd).

I have used Mr. Clean Bars on yellowish headliners, sun visor clips and sun visors with success. I get the bar really wet and rub gently in the same direction as to not leave scratch marks.
