Question Carrera 2.7 RS VIN Number

    I am searching for a 1973
Carrera 2.7 RS. I would like to know the VIN sequence, as there are so many fakey-doos out there. For the money in question, I need to be sure I am getting the real deal.

Any tips on available cars would be appreciated as well.

    THANKS!

911360XXXX, with the XXXX part being from 0011 to 1590.

That being said, anybody faking an RS will already know that too. So the verification that it is really an RS needs to go far beyond a check of the VIN on the stamped plate in the front. If you are really serious about a real RS you should get a copy of the Carrera RS book by Gruber and Konradsheim. There are usually one or two copies for sale on Ebay. And you should have an RS expert check the car out. Folks here can tell quite a bit from the telltale RS signature bits as well based on photo documentation, but for RS money an expert inspection is warranted. Good luck!

More than ANYTHING you may read or hear or see on your own, this is the single most important piece of advice you will get.
