    Hella engine compartment light

    I recently found a Hella engine compartment light for my 1973 911.

    To install it, I purchased the engine light wiring harness carried by Stoddard to connect the light. After researching, I learned that this light will be connected thru the passenger side license plate light in the rear deck lid.

    My question is concerning the wiring harness itself.

    As you look at the harness, which end connects to what?

    Should I presume that the black female connectors should attach to wires from the light, and the white connector should be inserted into a comparable female connector that is attached to the license plate light?

    Last question. What is the single separate wire to connect to?

    Thanks for indulging me with my novice questions. Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated.

    Look for my posting (with photos) from 7-22-13 and you should see how things connect. My car came with this option from the factory...as shown, the photos should be correct re the original wiring and how things connected. PM me if you need more...I can have the lamp and two harnesses (meaning the license plate harness and the engine lamp harness) when back at home.
