Fresh air flap and knob (1967)

The knob/lever that operates the fresh air inlet flap: when rotated to the left, does this open or close the flap?? Thanks

Can someone please check an owners manual (or their car)?

My 67 912 operates as follows:

Full right - little bit of air.
Full left - little bit more air.

I believe full left is closed, full right is open. (My manual is not available) Typically these leak due to the rubber flaps shrinking over time.

That is what I also thought before I checked the manual. The pic is from a 68 manual, but should make no difference. What is correct??

    The manual is correct.
I installed the complete nos system 2 weeks ago ( rubber flap, cable, knob, etc) and the system works perfectly : in the position showed by manual the cable is completely pulled and the flap is closed. If you rotate it to the left , the knob push the cable that is guided in a bowden system, and the flap make a 90 degrees turn , so the fresh air can enter from the top.

    Hope it's clear....
    Ciao.
