Thread: Rear Axle 'Cover Plate'

    Rear Axle 'Cover Plate'

Looking at SWB axles has been interesting and we have a number of trailing arms and none of them are fitted with a 'cover plate'

This is part number 901.331.281.00 which is NLA and I can't track one down anywhere. It is shown on the PET on both Nadella and Lobro shafts

Does any one have one of these parts either spare or that they could photograph?

Chris, do you have a link to the PET picture?

    Hello Chris,

Below is the best photo I have from my 66 swb restoration. The 'dust cap' is often jammed onto the stub axle ... in fact I thought it was part of the stub until I looked at the diagram you show. Even so it took some levering off - you can see the one off the other side in the back of this photo. Sorry It's now back on the car, but I might have another axle with one on. I'll look.

Yes I have them on the (now sold) nadellas in my workshop. I may have one on a spare shaft - did you want to borrow it?

That would be great as I could get some spun as replacements

Hi Chris, if it helps I have some of them if you need one. All the SWB cars I have seen had these.

Chris let me know if it's easier for Alan to mail one. Otherwise I'll chase down the one I think I have.
