    Sprucing up/repairing the wiring harness

I'd like to clean, re-wrap and otherwise 'restore' my harness before re-installation. I've read (but can't find) a thread on this. It mentioned a certain shrink tube to cover the connectors as original. Also, does anyone have a source for the original type connectors?
And, has anyone come up with a way to clean the connectors so that they are all shiny again? With or w/out having to replace the boot? Thanks all...

You can get some wide vinyl tape without any adhesive on it on eBay fairly inexpensively.

I am very interested since I need to do the same thing. I wiped it down with shop towels last weekend but did not want to use any cleaner, for fear of damage. Can you use a cleaner like simple green?

Also, there was a long thread on the type of tape wrap to use a couple of months ago.

Terminals: Wurth sells the correct un-insulated "double crimp" terminals...and the specific crimpng tool you need, but......Wurth will not sell to private individuals. I have a local shop who the Wurth rep regularly visits, so I place an order with my friend at the shop. Snap On figured it out and now sells on their web...you's think the idiots at Wurth would figure it out.

YnZ's sells the non-adhesive plastic loom wrap, although...my '67S has a lot of just adhesive "electrical tape."

Shrink wrap is available everywhere but there is a wide range of quality....find an electrical supply house and buy in bulk.

Wurth sells the correct vinyl harness sheathing, but in huge bulk lengths ($$). An outfit s SoCAl called Newco will sell short lengths of the correct sheathing...expensive per foot, but cheaper than 100 ft from Wurth.

To clean up the terminals, and remove any corriosion.

Mix some vinegar and salt, and scrub with an old tooth brush.

Rinse in some water and bicarb, to neutralize the acid.

Then spray with dielectric grease, to prevent corrosion/improve connectivity.
