Recommendations for replacement of horse hair for SWB

Any ideas on what to use for horse hair replacement in the cabin of the car? I've been told that dynamat works well.
Appreciate any ideas or recommendations. This is for SWB and LWB cars.

    Thanks

I went with Dynamat in my resto, you don't need to over do it, it just stops the drumming. Small squares in the indents worked for me, I just banged on the floor till I was happy that the tin can sound was diminished.

I then went with acoustic closed cell foam, which I stuck to the back of the carpet, similar to how the coir fiber was attached.

FWIW, I've kept as much of the original as possible. There is just something about the smell of old German car that I'd hate to lose.

The drawback about the original sound bearer I believe was an option special order is that it holds moisture if your in a high humidity area like me in Canada I wouldn't use it unless your going for 100 percent originality. Then I would have some type of dehumidifier inside the car when parked like this www.btibrands.com Goldenrod Dehumidifiers. My barn found 69 in 2000 was sitting since 1980 had the factory sound proofing and after taking it all off all the sheet metal was very very soft and flaking as for my early 71 which had none other than pvc seam seal the floors are great. If originality is of no concern Tony has the right ideal for sound proofing just make sure to use closed cell foam it doesn't hold moisture.
