in comparison our cars are cheap

If you think over 100K for an early 911 is a lot of money, here is the comparison a rusted pickup truck for 142K

The Cameo pickups are highly collectable. This particular one is a '58 which is the only 4 headlight Cameo built at about 1100 units. Despite the broken windshield and the dirt, this Cameo is new and had never been registered. It sat in storage since it was new.

It further confirms there are a lot of folks out there with a lot of money and a lot of "wants". Makes the world go 'round. Driving those 50's trucks is like driving a tractor, not like driving a 58 Porsche that is still a delight.

    Yeah, maybe . . . but with 1.3 miles? --- I doubt that truck'll ever be driven

Anybody here go? And what was the final total auction result? Seven-figures, I'll bet. Crazy --- and a total once-in-a-lifetime event

I watched some of the highlights on the History Channel special they did on it. That was a wild auction for sure. I wasn't too impressed with a lot of the cars though. All the low mileage ones were neat and all, but would it have killed them to at least take a hose to some of them?

    A 1.3 miles early 911 S would far be more than 142K...
