Why have I had 2 coils go bad?...help

I have a carbureted 3.2 in my track car, with an msd box. I had an ignition issue 1 year ago, and had to replace the coil. This weekend, while at Chuckwalla Raceway, I had another ignition issue, and it turns out I lost another coil.
MSD help line told me I need to upgrade to an 8207 coil, that is not a liquid-filled coil. Anyone have experience with this issue?

I take it you're using the MSD coil. Which MSD box? Digital 6AL or Original 6AL?

Check your charging system to make sure you're not getting voltage spikes ... MSD components are soft and voltage spikes eat them up.
Also, MSD recommends not using solid core wire with their products - I've used solid core wire with MSDs for years with no issues, but if you're having repeated issues then perhaps the plug wires or the connectors are messing with the resistance and causing the soft and squishy MSD parts to overwork themselves leading to premature burn-out.

Just theories of course, but I'd be focusing my energy looking at electrical system voltages and ignition component resistances.
