Here's what I've been shuffling for the last 6 months. It's amazing how pleasant it can be to pop in some ear plugs and cruise to the racetrack with these songs shuffling around in my head. Some make the right foot heavy and some take the weight off, but they all blend nicely to make the trip more fun.
Timestretch - Bassnectar
How Soon is Now? - Smiths
Black Velvet - Alannah Myles
I'm The One - Van Halen (the entire 1984 album is also a great driving companion)

Walk Away - Joe Walsh
The Valley Road - Bruce Hornsby and the Range
The Show Goes On - Bruce Hornsby and the Range
Radioactive - Imagine Dragons
Novocaine for the Soul - The Eels

Lot's of Rock and Roll listed with some great tunes and artists! I see a few artists listed that could be and "should be" called Blues Artists (allmann bros. for instance) Plug in some SRV for that get you up to speed, then find some John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Howlin Wolf, Delbert McClinton, Bonnie Rait, or Clapton for the long haul. For you younger guys maybe try Joe Bonamassa, Tommy Castro, Johhny Lang, or maybeTab Benoit.
But if you gotta Rock! George T and the Deleware Destroyers, The Red Rocker in any form including Van Hagar, and how could the list not include The Worlds GREATEST Country and Western Band of all time "Laides and Gentelman THE ROLLING STONES"
Really folks plug in some Blues after all it is where Rock and Roll came from!
