. . . Dick Lovett are delighted to offer this rare 911 2.7 RS Lightweight, first registered in January 1973 and imported into the UK in 1988. Of all the 1580 Carrera RS 2.7s, only 200 of the lightweight ‘sport’ trim cars were built. This made the car more responsive and purposeful, in many ways these cars were the ultimate road going Porsche of the 1970s. Reports of up to 200kg were stripped from the standard model. As a result, the Lightweight was a nimble 900kg. Inside, competition-style bucket seats, minimal door panels, thin carpeting and lack of sound deadening. Gone were the rear seats, glove box panel and passenger-side visor. Finished in Grand Prix White, Black Leatherette, Blue Carrera RS Decals and Iconic Blue Fuchs Alloys. Being the first 911 to introduce the aptly named Duck Tail Rear Spoiler, which not only looked fantastic, but worked aerodynamically to keep the rear of the car firmly planted to the road at high speed. This is a fine example of a truly rare 911, a must see . . .
