    Ed Pink Race Engines

I attended an open house at Ed Pink's shop last weekend (http://www.edpink.com/). It's a state-of-the-art engine rebuilding facility that specializes in race engines of all types. Besides the Indy Cosworths and Offenhousers, Nissan LMP, IMSA Toyota and other vintage race engines, here's one in particular - a basket case 917 from Canepa's shop up north. As explained to me, this partial assembly will reveal what parts are missing that need to be sourced or fabricated. The gentleman on the right is Ed Iskenderian of "Isky" cam fame.

Sherwood, thanks for this. Great to see some of the inner portions of a 917 motor. Is this a 917-10?

Too funny, Ed still carries that pocket spiral notebook in his shirt pocket just like he did back in the 70s and 80s when I was working with him. He has everything you can imagine in those little note books. When he finishes one, he files it away and starts a new one...

So... This is your new motor we've been hearing about .

Shared an adult beverage and a chat with Isky a couple of years ago at a Fabulous 50's gathering. What a character, I could listen to him all day.

    No. It's a 4.9 endurance motor.
