    Deep six/flat six wheel changeover

I was wondering when this occured. I have a 1971 911S with deep six Fuchs. I am pretty sure it was the previous owners choice, as they have the "hearts".
I like the look, but the tubes can be "troublesome" and add weight where it is least needed.

71 was a weird year for fuchs. Some very early production 71 could have had the older fuchs with the hearts on probably left overs from the 70 production, then It was the one year only deep dish with no heart. Then late 71 was the start of the flat fuchs .020 which you could run tubeless. I'm not sure if any 71 had them on by the factory.
I don't know of any valve stems being made for deep dish fuchs without modifying the rim. Maybe something Harvey could explain better.
