    Identity: strange fan housing

    Hello

I've found a very strange fan housing.

The case border seems to be made out of wood (or synthetic wood).

Have you ever seen such a part. I think it's a DIY repair.

That is not wood. It's fiberglass. I guess someone wanted a bit of 917 on their 911.

It seems to be made out of celoron. Material used for distribution gear (see http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...nusV4front.jpg)

Looks like it's made up of two pieces, with rivets holding.

What is the diameter of the fan?

Looks like early carbon to me and reminds me of an air/water 1.2 motronic 962 unit. The fan itself should also be carbon.

    Cheers
