Looking for info on a "fabric like" material toolkit bag

    Hi.

This toolkit thing has become a slippery slope for me. I came across a toolkit bag in my stash that has a "fabric like" material and I was not able to find information on it in the database. The closest "fabric like" material in toolkit bag I found was referenced to a "pin-point fabric." The material of this toolkit bag looks similar to the 65-66 ribbed vinyl material, except the ribs run 90 degrees from the 65-66 ribbed vinyl material. This material is also more pliable than the 65-66 ribbed vinyl material. The toolkit bag looks to have all the right dimensions, spring closure clasps, and interiors. Has anyone else seen this bag before? Is it one of those "pieces of eights (referencing Pirates of the Caribbean)" where the factory used whatever it had on hands to make the bag. Or this is a repro bag? If so, it's the best repro bag I've so far. Thanks in advance for all your inputs.

Definitely not repro, I would say original and left over material used. Also they got the ribs going wrong way so made after "Lunch Break".

I have one just like it. My guess is '67. Maybe others have ideas.

It was confirmed that the other bag I have found is also 65/66. It was "just another of the materials that occurred during that time." The two that I've shown in my original post are both 65/66.

This material looks very much like another bag (picture below) in my stash and helps answer the questions I had with regards to it's material originality. It looks like I have a bag for every year from '65-'73.5 in my collection. Now, I'll just have to look for that "...earliest bag for 1964 early 65 was a very smooth vinyl with no leather like naugahyde to it, and it had clasp closures with tabs like the 356 toolkit bags and the clasps were riveted on, there was also a small half moon of material that acted like a pull."
