    1972 Porsche 911s Targa. Rare collectible car and the best of the early 911 series which has skyrocketed in value.Only 989 Porsche 911s targas built in 1972.Vin # 9112310020 ( The 20th 2.4L MFI targa built) This 2.4L MFI engine pulls like a dream. This car is a good daily driver. Looks and drives excellent, but is not a show car. Recent paint in original special black color, new front suspension pan and the remainder of the body is very solid with no notable rust. Recovered seats and new carpet. New windshield, tinted glass all around. New brakes and shocks. Dash has a hairline crack. Targa top just overhauled. Engine top end rebuilt recently (less than a 1000 miles ago) by Franz Blam Racing. Engine numbers are matching to COA, but appears to be a restamp on a replacement case since it is missing a star stamp on the engine numbers. New Michelin tires and suspension alignment. Aftermarket radio, left manual antenna, front loudspeaker and noise suppression. This is your chance to own an affordable early 911s driver. Car is sold as is where is with no warranty. Non refundable deposit of $1000.00 required 24 hrs. after close of auction. Inspection is welcome before purchase, please contact Dave for more info @ 706-302-3636

    Just noticed your signature - are you cornering the market in 1967s's?

    No wonder I can't find a softie! Get those all restored and your garage will look like a period dealership.

    9112310020

    VIN = 9112310020
    Eng# = 6320027
    Trans# = 320596
    Prod# = ?

    Now on BaT . . .

    '. . . This 1972 Porsche 911S Targa is said to have previously resided in California and was acquired by the current owner out of Georgia in 2016. The car is finished in black over a black interior, and power is provided by a 2.4L flat-six equipped with mechanical fuel injection and mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional features include Recaro-style sport seats, a small diameter sport steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. This 911S Targa is now offered on behalf of the current owner with factory books and manuals, service records, removed spare parts, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean North Carolina title.

    The car is finished in black with a brushed stainless targa bar, and the seller notes a repaint was performed during prior ownership. Factory bumpers and Bosch H1 headlights with chrome headlight rings are equipped, and close-up photos of the trim, finish, and targa bar are included in the image gallery.

    Michelin Harmony tires measuring 195/65 are mounted on 15″ Fuchs wheels, and the full-size spare wears a Kumho tire. Factory 911S equipment included front and rear anti-sway bars, and the ride height of this example has been lowered. The front calipers for the four-wheel disc brakes were rebuilt in 2014. A spare Fuchs 15x 6″ was refinished by Weidman’s Wheels and is included in the sale.

    Inside, a pair of Recaro-style perforated leather sport seats have been installed, and other alterations include a 380mm Porsche steering wheel and a replacement carpet kit. A replacement Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is also fitted in the factory location. The removed seats, steering wheel, and a set of Coco mats are included in the sale.

    Stock VDO instrumentation includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer reads approximately 4k miles and is believed to have rolled over once.

    Power is provided by a correct type 911/53 2.4L flat-six equipped with mechanical fuel injection, and drive is sent to the rear wheels via a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. A top-end rebuild was performed by Franz Blam Racing in April 2012, and more recent work in 2018 included a syncing and adjustment of the injection system, as well as the replacement of the hand throttle, heater cables, heater flappers, and more as shown in the provided invoices. The engine serial can be seen in the gallery and matches the number listed on the Porsche CoA, though the seller points out that it appears to have been restamped.

    The front suspension pan was reportedly replaced by a prior owner, and corrosion is noted on some suspension parts. Per the seller, an oil cooler was added in 2014, the exhaust was installed in 2018, and two Sonnenschein A512/40A replacement batteries were fitted in May 2020. Additional photos in the gallery highlight the underside and mechanicals
