    Daytona prototype testing cancelled today.

Bummed out that testing was cancelled today but better safe than sorry. Yesterday went well.
Hopefully it's just isolated to the new Corvettes and not an intrinsic flaw in tire construction. However the officials told us this morning that the Continental guys spent all night testing on their "drum" and one can assume that it didn't go well as they pulled the plug before 8am.

Kudos to Fittipaldi/Action Express drive. 1:39 at Daytona in a DP is flying!

Asking tires to do 60% more work is a bit much, but like he says, these cars are going 190 mph and have a weight and area similar to a Cessna 172, which takes off at only 100 mph. Dynamic pressure scales with the square of the speed so there isn't much you can do to stop them taking off when they get way out of shape.
