    Found - '67S

Saw this while surfing the "Bird". Reading the OP's post, looks like he is debating on selling or restoring. Glad to see another one of the '67s found, even though it needs a little bit of work.

WOW! And I thought my current '67 SWT project was a challenge. I previously had a '68 SWT 912 that I sold in 1981. Three years later I saw it in a wrecking yard. Why didn't "we" think of the future, back in the day?

It will certainly be a treasure hunt to find all the parts need...but doable!

You can bring them back, you just need the right parts car. We recently found a matching #s 67S that was rough, but still had the original engine and gearbox, but was missing a lot. I sold it quickly to one of my regular customers. He told me to be on the lookout for a parts car. A few weeks later we got in a 67 Normale that was heavily optioned, 4.5 FUCHS, leather interior, wood wheel, Hella fogs, you name it.

So two will make one and he can still sell the stripped 67 normale when he is done. And yes, with the rising values on a matching #s 67S it is worth buying a nice 67 normal just for the parts.

Look for the full story in my column in an upcoming issue of ESSES.

    John-
Some must die so others may live. We recently set up a memorial at Unobtanium about this sad fact.

Can we all have a moment of silence for the lost cars.
