    Wiring Harness Opinions

Going through a total restoration and trying to decide on attempting to protect and then refurbish the harness. Would like to conserve it but there is also the safety issue and expense of
very old and brittle plastic. Any opinions or experience with original versus repro?
    Thanks!

If you want to stay with the original for the majority and just replace what's needed.

    http://www.mcmaster.com/ has the sleeves available.

You can get the pressure sensitive tape at a number of places on the net.

Kroon, or others can supply the brass terminal ends and the rubber protectors.

Clean the wires up with a mild vinegar solution, so as not to destroy the trace paint on the wires.

Vinegar and salt solution to clean the terminals, and a baking soda solution to neutralize the acid, and a bit of contact cleaner for protection.

Lay it out and put some large jumper leads on your multi meter, and run continuity test on each wire, resistance can be from a short, or or a bad connection due to corriosion.

It will take you time, but give you the opportunity to label each loom for when you put it back into the car, and save you $

Just elected to preserve the original, as it was reasonably good, but for changes for electronic ignition, audio, and ttg fogs. All back to original with tools and supplies from Kroon. Great stuff.
