Congrats!
BTW: Who is the serviceman who brought this car to the States? He deserves a mention, as he had the vision to buy a 901 in Germany and bring it home.
Wonderful condition! What a catch!
Boy, take a week end off and good news like this hits...
Congrats on this wonderful find Allen.
Your going to have a fun time getting this car to look like it did - back in the day. Mark W. and Erik K. have posted, they will have a wealth of car information. For the correct grille talk to Dave in Colorado...he might have something for you. Yup...every one of these cars has some special feature, those seats are a delight, whether original or replacement they look "bespoke".
This is good news. ( by the way, Type 901 total just 82- the other three are prototypes with 13 xxx serial numbers. It is a smaller pool than you thought.)

That really is amazing, and very exciting!
What a memorable experience. You need to write a book or magazine article on it , after you are finushed.
Thank you for preserving history.
Great find and good luck!

1964 911ers,
One things that puzzles us is our car's interior. Is it original or not? It certainly looks original and color-coordinated. Very "356" as you would expect. Please check out the staples on the seats. Factory? The Kardex says
Kunstleder=. Leatherette
Rehbraun = deer brown
Pepita = houndstooth
Maybe the houndstooth was switched out as it is prone to wear. We'll know when the seats are rebuilt. Was there a "tan or brown houndstooth?" We know old Porsches in bad climates often were not driven that much and were parked early. Perhaps, why the interior is (mostly?) original and nice. Thanks.
-Allen-
Allen, that rear seat looks like the real deal.
