    A question about headlights, Sugar scoops vs Standard lens

    As I was surfing through endless pictures of 911's I noticed
    the various headlight lenses. Can someone explain what years
    the sugar scoops where used compared to the standard protruding lens?
    I am thinking of switching to standard lens what model would I need to purchase?

    The sealed beam lights you show in your first picture, commonly called "sugar scoops" were a US mandated option for many years. If you had a ROW delivered car, it had the second option.
    Your second pic shows the "Euro" option H4 (or H1) light assemblies. If you want to swap out, you'll need to buy the whole H4 assembly, still available new.

    Starting in/for MY 1968 (not an option but mandatory for US market)
