914 requires a different mind set to appreciate than a 911. A well done or original 911 has more a bank vault tightness in build quality and feel. The 914 just doesn't have that going for it. Hard to look at a well turned out 2.2 T and a 914/6 at the same price not choosing the T to drive off in. 914's appear cheaply built and putting a flat six in one doesn't change that. It also doesn't make a great 914/6 worth what a great T is worth.

That said, I'm with Frank. A two liter 914 is an excellent way to spend $15-25k. The build quality and cheapness is just about right and the fun per $ factor is very high.
