    Changing thoughts on 914's

Given that the 914 is the same vintage as our early 911's, has your views on them changed over time?

I always liked the looks but clearly preferred the elegance of the 911.
And many condemned them as not being Porsches but VWs. Which is odd since they were designed by Porsche, had Porsche parts and the 914-6 was even built on the same line as the 911.
In that sense, it's more a Porsche than the 356 was.

The looks are love or hate, I suppose, but clearly distinctive
    I am a fan.

I am surprised by the disdain that some Porsche owners have for the 914? These cars offer a huge bang for the buck. That may not always be the case, as current values represent an anomaly in my opinion. I am especially fond of the 914-6.

After starting as a 15 year old kid with 914's and working on and owning 4 of them before buying my first 911 I can tell you I've never looked back. The 911 is just such a better built/designed car. If I had an endless bank account a 914-6 would be fun to own but it's all 911's for me!

My first Porsche was a 73 2.0. Great fun, especially after installing Koni's, Front Sway Bar, torsion bars and springs. Heck, it was my daily driver during the early years of Paragon. Really fun to drive and kids LOVE the 914. I kind of always figured because it was a car that was their size

My first 914 was a clone of the orange car except it had the early bumpers.

I REALLY like the blue car!

My first car out of college was a '73 2.0 I loved that car, I still always have had one to drive. I drove one from LA to Chicago once in January and it was a blast. This is my current one '74 2.0 Alaska Blue Metallic.
