Has the Registry e-mail list been hacked?

Early this morning I received an e-mail from Ashton@early911Sregistry.org addressing me as a former member and offering the benefits of membership. The e-mail has links , purportedly to the website, where I can renew my membership and buy a calendar. It looks pretty real but I suspect that it is a phishing exercise.

    Can someone enlighten me?

    Have we been hacked?

If so, why is it addressed to me as a "former member"?

I am a former member, so perhaps there is some confusion about who it's addressed to. On my phone it was a bunch of links, so I assumed, like you did, that something was up. At my desktop I see a full page that includes a digitized version of a past issue of Esses, and text that addresses the benefits of membership.

    Sorry guys,

We try to cull out all the members who are current with our periodic membership email reminders... but sometime we miss.... please bear with us.... You can always check your membership due date in the address box of your ESSES.
