This 68S is what I would call a very high end driver or in "street concours" condition. Originally in California, there are no rust issues or signs of collision damage. The S was repainted in the 90s in the original color of Polo Red. The condition of the paint is still excellent with great patina and very little paint chips from use. The interior is in beautiful condition with the original Elephant hide panels and properly restored standard seats with OE Porsche wool Houndstooth inserts with newer, proper carpet, original uncracked two piece dash, great headliner and working Becker radio.

The mechanicals are excellent and recently serviced with detailed original, matching number engine. Being an early 68S this car has the more desirable Aluminum rather than Magnesium engine case. There are no mechanical needs. The S starts, stops and runs excellent and everything is proper and where it should be. The tires are new. There are beautiful working Hella 128 lights and the original Webasto gas heater is still in place though it has not been fired in years. There is a full tool kit in beautiful condition with the very rare elephant hide tool kit bag. The 68S owner's manual and the two maintenance books are in excellent condition and also of note included is the original metal warranty plate. When was the last time you saw one of those? This is a great opportunity to own a rare proper 68 911S than can be enjoyed and driven today without any needs. I will assist with shipping. I entertain offers worldwide. Serious buyers only.

That car is owned by Rob Abbott and the listing was a scam.

Clearly not legit. I read somewhere that people use Ebay in order to establish a record (for tax purposes) a phoney transaction to validate a phoney price. This listing was in existence for less than 24 hours (it would appear). If so, what does that tell you about its legitimacy?

More and more of these... The other day I inquired about an A110 (Alpine Renault, you don't find these in the US too often), similar ad: Too good to be true.

The ad went offline after I contacted the guy, but the seller kept in contact via email, usual BS about someone else's pictures (if you can find that out), being out of the country and the payment being processed with an escrow account (name your choice).... I really think the days of buying a car on Ebay are *over*. Either stuff goes for too much $$ because with an unlimited audience, someone will have a bigger wallet and less sense than you, or it's a scam... Last decent deals are personal connections and luck with neighbors.

That is 100% my car, I hope the buyer didn't send any money. If its to good to be true, it probably isn't.
