    16 inch Fuchs

Hi. I have a 911E which is currently having a full restoration and being RHD I mean FULL. I noticed a while back that the Fuch are 6/7 16s and I know that it should have 15 on it but would like to know what these may have come from. The dates are 83 so I assume it would be sc or maybe 944 ? I'm also considering a swap for some 15s if anybody is interested?

You didn't say what year your E is. Many Es came with 14s. I would lean towards the 14s as your wheels have been replaced. I have found more 14s were replaced then 15s by a wide margin.
You should get the COA before looking for wheels IMHO.
    BTW what is your spare?

Harvey, sorry its a 1971, and I haven't got round to even looking what the spare was. It was taken out of the car about 2 years ago when it was stripped ready for its restoration. I have a funny feeling that its an early space saver, looks like a 356 steel wheel if my memory serves me well.

Manufacturing date is important, because there was a running change around 4/71 from "early" to "flat" Fuchs. CoA would tell you manufacture date, as would a plastic striker sticker if you still have it.

Anyway, I need a set of 16 X 6 & 7, if you find money is a better medium than barter.

those 6 and 7 by 16 would be from a SC, and not original to a '44.

The 944 came with 7 and 8's in Fuchs, the 82-83 cars having the 7's, and the 84 and 85.1 one style of offset on the 15's and 16's. The second series thru 86 a different offset with a slightly different look to the wheel from the face side.
