    4th digit in model # is an "8" for manufacturing in 1968 (7.638.700) Also "A" prefix in serial # (A1629149) indicates 1969. I have one of these but has a blue dot faceplate so maybe this was a transition year for some parts.

    Thanks Mike for the response. Where did you find this information, and do you have similar information for any Blaupunkt years through 1975, i.e. the 4th digit in the model number being the year, and the letter preceding the serial number being the year. I am aware of the letter before the serial numbers for earlier Blaupunkts. Any additional information appreciated.
