Question Oil tank bumper support bracket

Is there a trick to getting the bracket to line up with the oil tank.

My car never had the clamp, only the remnants of the origional were left on the bumper support.

I ordered the correct part, or I think I did from PET.

Is there some trick to getting them to line up. It seems like the clamp is to short to reach the captive nut on the tank.

I've got the little rubber spacer in place, and the bumper support can't go any higher.

A photo would be great, just to confirm I have the bracket on the right way.

Or has anyone dealt with this problem before?

It would look like my freshly restored tank is a SWB tank
