Am I correct in assuming that this car is really a 1966 MY?

I believe you are correct. I own 302346 and it is also paint code 6604. I have a very similar c o a from porsche the also says 1965....... 64xx paint codes are generally considered 65 MY cars and 66xx are considered 66 MY... There is still more research to figure out the exact transition serial number.

It's a '66, built in the fall of '65. Search the old threads on this, it's been well chewed over the last few years. $250 - 325k? I wanna see this car. It must have less than 1000 miles on it, and been preserved in an inert gas capsule since '66.
