Is this really allowed in this forum? Is it really ethical??

I've used the member ID "914-6gt" in this forum for years, since 05/26/2005 to be exact. I noticed today that a new member just registered yesterday (12/22/2013) using my very same member ID, but with the only difference he added a space between the "6" and the "g" and also capitalized the 'gt' as 'GT'. My ID 914-6gt, his new ID 914-6 GT.

If you knew who I was, would you now be a bit confused with this inpersonator if contacted? I would think so, and I don't like it one bit.

His post here 914-6 GT http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...l=1#post696895

    My post here 914-6gt http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...l=1#post696939

I'm really irritated by it, I also suspect the same individual was the one that also took advantage of the eBay ID name variation and used the eBay ID I've had for years...

Moderator, can anything be done to correct this? Thank you. Armando

I think the ID should be removed. Adding one space and changing letters to upper case should not be allowed as a new ID.

How about: Nine14-Six-GT, Nein14-6 GT or 9fourteen6 GT? All 3 are unused.

    Good luck!

I sure wish FeeBay would have opted to take the same reasonable approach, thank you Chuck, Tom and everyone else.

    Merry Christmas!

Have to agree, it is confusing, could just spell it out, or something close to it.

So you both picked the same car as a username. So what? Get over it.

    Welcome Wilfrid!!

its a function of the software this site uses. I am sure no one intended anything by using a similar user name...why we dont just use our real names is another question. Seems a little silly that we all go by site 'handles'.

    Stevie...

It is obvious you don't quite understand, or even have a grasp of the concept of having a unique name identifier for each member in this forum. All i can say is how refreshing it is that you're not the one moderating this forum. Imagine that, "back to the Wild Wild West"...
