    Speedometer and Tachometer needle sticking.

About a year ago, on occasion after sitting for a week, my speedometer needle would stick until I would reach about 25 MPH. If I taped the glass it would immediately register. Now my tach needle sticks until I tap the glass and then will respond accurately. I have checked speedometer cable and all electrical connections on tack, MSD and points. If I pull out tach at idle and move it around a bit while checking connections nothing happens until I tap on the glass.
    Any ideas.

It is the gauge itself. Dry/ sticky/old lubrication inside on the bearings the needle shaft rotates on.

My oil pressure gauge does the same thing when first started. A tap on the glass gets her working.
