Help me fish out my 73.5T's hood latch cable

Yesterday I rekeyed the lock to my glove box on my 73.5 T. That was so easy that I decided to rekey the lock for my trunk as well (it's a Targa). I backed out the screw at the hood latch and the little stop-screw behind the "T" pull handle, and then pulled the T and it came out enough to get at the lock and remove the tumbler cylinder. The rekeying went smoothly as did reinstalling it into the handle. But now, we get to the problem. In pulling the T handle out, the latch cable got pulled back inside the metal tube shielding. Pushing in on the T handle is not forcing it forward -- see this video. and pics below. The cable had a little bend near the latch, it must be catching inside the tunnel. Any good suggestions for how to fish the cable out? There's about zero room to maneuver in there.

    Thanks in advance.

The "hook" is created as the cable is bent over after passing through the hole with the set screw. Get the length correct before you bend it. I'd pull it and but a new one unless you are able to fish it out with a piece of safety wire or similar.

    Good luck.

Can you not just pull the cable out from the 'T' handle end?

Thanks Ed, that turned out to be the winning solution. I couldn't push it back in, but was able to pull the cable all the way out, straighten the last half inch of cable with needle nose pliers, then feed it back in all the way through to the latch.
