Routing of oil lines to front cooler

    Good Morning!

I am working on the rocker panels / floor and I got to thinking about how to route the oil cooler lines while everything was open. Car is 1970 911. Elephant racing has the hard lines that seem to go on the outside of the car. Given my propensity for off-course excursions, having the oil line as the first point of contact does not seem good. (stones and small objects, not a side impact with something large)
I am going to have a header without heater boxes, so there will not be a heating duct. It is possible / recommended to use braided oil lines and run them through the ducting area in the rocker panels and then use the heater piping to routing the braided lines into the trunk area and then to a fender mounted cooler?

    Thanks in advance.

    Rick,
I did this set-up in the 70's and I go through the complete project. Send me your phone number directly to my email at johndilger@aol.com and I will call you to go over the details. There are special fittings and wrenches that you need to use.
