    FS: @eBay - 1967 S (no affiliation)

I didn't find the VIN 308427 anywhere on the registry. Five days left on auction, past $100k.

    http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=141150766513#

    Seller's info:

This car was purchased by me on Ebay from a California seller from San Diego in 2001. This owner had had the car since new. The car was driven from San Diego to Fort Worth without any problems. It has been garaged ever since.

Since then, the car has been worked on by a single mechanic, who is an early 911 specialist. This car is an all original with matching chassis engine and transmission.

    Some of the improvements include:-

A totally redone engine using original Porsche parts with Mahle cylinders and pistons. I have put on about 5,000 miles since the engine was rebuilt. The speedometer has about 25,000 miles on it.

Brand new stainless steel exhausts and heat exchanges.

    Original rims which were refurbed.

Electronic fuel pump was added prior to my purchase, this helps with cold starts and priming the engine. The engine idles perfectly when cold.

Weber Carbureters have been worked on and have no problem.
Brand new 911S carpets were installed. The rest of the interior is original.

The clock and the speedometer have been refurbed in California.

New Koni Shocks, and the rear stabilizer was completely refurbed.

This vehicle has never been raced to my knowledge. The car runs perfectly and had not damage history, and runs very stable on the road.

Please note, that there is a small rust area at the back left lower corner of the rear window.

The paintwork is original except for the front hood which was redone because of slight pitting on the paint. The car has a lovely original patina. Robert Redford’s car in the movie “Spy Game” reminds me of this car.

If you are looking for and short wheel base 911S, look no further. You can take this car and use it as an everyday driver, or a vehicle you could turn into a showroom specimen.

I have been driving Porsches for the past 40 years and have had lots of experience with Porsches. Please feel free to contact me if you further questions.

This is for serious bidders only and payment is due by electronic wire transfer within 48 hours of auction ending.
Seller makes no warranty and the car is being sold "as is". Seller also reserves the right to end the auction early.

Call if you have any questions.

rear engine tags look to be replaced at one time, late model outside mirror, non bendix fuel pump, coil changed, door panels look like modification, rust at left rear corner below glass, doesnt look like original paint, no COA for validation of match eng and trans, $100,000 to $110,000.?? I think it might be tired but good restoration candidate....My $.02

How much to re-chrome this car assuming the aircleaner, shroud and fan housing band are taken back to original?

Seriously - what are the plating costs and who is the plater of choice? That's a number and source I just don't have the foggiest about.

    1) bumper trim/bumperettes
    2) headlamps
    3) grills
    3) door window frames
    4) rear pop out frames
    5) mirrors
    6) seat trim
    7) guage rims

I mean chrome for now - links welcome - I have looked abit without a strong answer, but liklely overlooked great info.

The beauty of America is that there are good chrome platers almost everywhere. Because there is chrome almost everywhere. People laud King of Trim on this forum, but I've had work of equal or better quality done locally at a shop (http://www.midwayplating.ca) that RM Restorations (just an hour down the highway) also uses. However, good quality chrome work is expensive. That list you posted could run a thousand bucks or more for a 600 compound finish. A drop in the bucket for a $120k car.

Nobody in NM anymore - out here in the desert , but thank you - only $1k to rechrome an early 911 all the way through? Can't see shipping to Ontario though... what about AZ or west coast sources?
