Is this a 1976-1977 or a later SC?

    heya guys.....hello to everyone.....
I just joined this forum after having browsed through the many Porsche and 911 forums online....i did not want to get entangled and hooked on to every one out there and was looking for just one to be part of! i guess this is where i decided to register up for!!!

i am from Malaysia and have in sight a particular car.....having read up a bit on 911s (the nomenclature is so confusing!) i have kinda understood the various models over the years......

the car i have in mind states in the registration card as a 1980 model. however it was common back then for dealers to bring in older cars and label them as of a model a few years newer! i guess it was even more easy for them do so with the 911s back then since they all looked pretty much the same!

the car in question is a white RHD 911 labelled as just Carrera on the back with a whale tail spoiler...i'll try to post photos up later..... the engine capacity on the registration card is 2994cc..... the chasis number (vin) is 91A0130981.

could anyone please tell me if this is the much rarer 1976-1977 Carrera with a 3.0litre engine or is it an SC model.....

    thanks to everyone.....

    That's a 1980 SC VIN

You can check VINs at http://stuttcars.com/technical/vin-decoder/

    Good luck with your search

    blkz,

The chassis # is consistent with a ROW (rest of world = other then U.S. import) 1980 SC - one of 4,831

I'm going to move your question over to this forum......

    Cheers and welcome.........
