    W: '73 rs lhd

    Hi All
my name is Bill and I, like a few I should imagine, am looking for a '73 RS, LHD. Its not actually for me I am a mechanic and a customer of mine is very keen on buying one, he had previously been into Ferraris and then bought a 2.4T from Italy which oddly enough I had originally bought for a friend of his, he is a true enthusiast as am I and I am certainly not a dealer, I just fix them and try to help people to have fun with their old cars. I don't expect anyone to jump up and drop one in my lap as I am new around here but some places to look might be nice, I have been working on them since they could be bought for around $40,000 so know my way around them fairly well but these days they seem to be a bit tricky to find, I am based in SE London but am quite willing to travel and have a decent budget although values seem a little tricky to figure at the moment too which may explain why cars have gone to ground. Someone on another forum pointed me towards an orange Touring from Portugal which has oddly enough ended up at a dealer in San Francisco via Germany, but there is a suggestion the motor is not original to the car and it does seem a little odd that such a low mileage car has had so much work carried out. Lastly can someone tell me the correct finish for the reverse side of the front spoiler, is it bare fibre glass with overspray or was there an attempt to mask the back, and what was the finish on the mounting brackets, I am working on an RS at the mo and have repaired the spoiler as its brackets had pretty much rusted away leaving the part hanging on the remains of its rusty brackets and a few self tapping screws and 5mm bolts, nice. Many thanks Bill

    Bill,

Autocorporatione.es here in Spain has 2, i would recomend talking a good look at them with detail, since heard many things on them, but like every thing, must be checked out personally.

They are priced in the 300 hundredes, but i guess they are willing to negotiate.
I am not afiliated to them in any matter, just keep tabs on any Porsche that sell here in Spain.

    Bill,

Give Don (one of the members here) a call on his RS for sale. He has a first series Touring in my favorite color, Signal Yellow. The chassis # is 424 based on the serial # of the transmission shown in the photos. I have no personal interest in the sale, just passing along a lead for you. Happy hunting.
