    I do find engine 900540 that went into 300353, but looking at those lists from the factory we can see that numbers were very much out of sequence end of January 65.....

    But the transmission vin
    Look at Greg's 310001 transmission,out of same batch.

    103001-105191 = 901/02 is a 911S 1967 5 speed, so 103011 is a very early one of its type but obviously with a typo in the type #. That type # would not have been in production at the time; as Scott says, the 902/02 was a 1968 912 5 speed with a different top gear.
