    What came on a 1967 911S?

Can you guys please shed some light on the particulars of a '67 911S

    - Was the spare tire was mounted on a Fuchs wheel, not a steel one?

    - Was the out-side mirror a 3-1/2" Durant, not a 5" Durant?

    - Could you special order leather interior in different colors other than the standard 4 shown in the brochure?

    - Was a Becker Mexico TR radio available for this car?

    - WHat is the correct antenna?

    - Standard Fuchs wheels were 15x4-1/2"

    - What were 15x5-1/2" Fuchs delivered on? Were they an option for the '67S?

    - What were 14x5-1/2" Fuchs delivered on?

    - What brand and size tires were on a European delivery car?

    - Was the wood rimmed steering wheel a factory option?

    - What was the shift knob? Were there any optional knobs

    Many thanks for your help

Hi Steve and congratulations with the Montana shed car
The search feature on this site is crap. Take a look at this thread, you need to search using Google. Test it and let us know if you do not find what you are looking for:

    Some quick replies:
    - Was the spare tire was mounted on a Fuchs wheel, not a steel one?
Not 100% sure, but I have never seen pictures of a 67S with a steel spare wheel.

    - Was the out-side mirror a 3-1/2" Durant, not a 5" Durant?
A 67S had the small Durant. The large Durant was introduced for 1968 model year. Talbot mirror was optional.

    - Could you special order leather interior in different colors other than the standard 4 shown in the brochure?
If you had money, you could order more or less whatever you wanted, but very rare to see special ordered interior today because few cars had it.

    - Was a Becker Mexico TR radio available for this car?
Available radios in ´67. Also listed in the Johnson book:
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...odel-for-a-67s

    - WHat is the correct antenna?
    A picture here: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...s-needed/page3

    - Standard Fuchs wheels were 15x4-1/2"
Yes, the 4,5 Fuchs were introduced as standard for the 67S, also optional for 911 Normal and 912.

    - What were 15x5-1/2" Fuchs delivered on? Were they an option for the '67S?
The 5,5 Fuchs were introduced as standard for the 68S. Optional on the other 68MY cars.

    - What brand and size tires were on a European delivery car?
I do not have the time now, but guess you will find it doing a search.

    - Was the wood rimmed steering wheel a factory option?
    Yes it was.

    - What was the shift knob? Were there any optional knobs
I believe only the standard 901 knob was delivered from the factory, but the alternatives like with the Porsche crest were probably available as a dealer installed/aftermarket option in period. But I did not live "in period", so can´t tell for sure

-The 5,5x14" were introduced from '69 for 911E with Hydropneumatic struts as a "comfort" version with 185HR14 tires.

-The standard tire size for the 4,5x15" Fuchs that were standard on your car war 165HR15, which could nowadays also be called 165/80R15H. There are two brand currently available with proper speed rating and that would be Vredestein Classic and Michelin XAS. I like Michelin's XAS very much, and would never fit a Vredestein Classic again if I can avoid it at any cost.

-5,5x15" came later ('68), but were often retrofitted to early cars. Every '65 currently racing in europe currently runs 5,5x15" because thats what the rules say is the max. It also explains why 5,5x15's are very wanted! On your '67S the 4,5x15" are really THE wheel for me, it's their own special wheel.

As noted by the previous posts:
The standard wheels for 67S were the 4 1/2 X 15 Fuchs. Spare included.
    The tire size was 165X15.
The original brand of tire is frequently noted on your COA.
If you find any of the original tires they would only for display purposes.
As far as I have found none of the original brands are being reproduced.
    5 1/2 X 15 and 5 1/2 X 14 are for later cars.

    Harvey,
My '67S has the 5.5" Fuchs now and I'm searching for some 4.5's, which I will have your restore.
Can you start with chromed wheels? or have they been compromised?
