What am I missing about this owners manual wallet

I know that prices are going crazy in the market at the moment, but I thought that there was some logic to it... I was watching this sale on e-bay for what looks to be an original owners manual wallet, starting price was $25... bidding ended at $305!!!

Is there something I am missing here?

Good question; seems the market speaks...

I did notice Stoddard has started offering these repros:

I am starting to pay attention to the details of these more and more. You can easily see the differences in the crest between the two. Though I still have yet to find a definitive source citing the proper cover inside colors/years. Though I was searching the forum and some folks were citing the red/red were sixtys cars.

My 1973 cover is grey on the inside with maroon pockets. The pockets have a different pattern (cross-hatch) than the rest of the piece, which is leather patterned.

$305.00 for that folder was on the real high side of what they're actually worth. Somebody obviously wanted that bad. It only takes one buyer. You'll find one at a more reasonable price.
