    WTB: Below the Bumper Lights

I would like to buy a set of these lights - the ones that mount below the front bumper.

I am working on setting up a stock front end look. I do plan to keep all the parts per the original owners set up so I can change back to the look he designed. I just can't bring myself to remove the tape the previous owner left (for some reason?) on the lights to achieve my goal. The car was photographed in Leffingwell's book with this look, and the original owners heirs were quite proud that the car had remained unchanged since those photos, noting specifically the white tape on the lights. I don't personally understand it, but it seems to be a part of the cars heritage at least back to the early '90's.

So can someone help me out? Plse pm me. Thanks in advance.

That is a scammer, just ignore the message, he replies to all WTB adds.
The light on the picture look to be hella 128, used on SWB cars.
Your bumper is a 72/73 911s model bumper, normally used without lights ore with very eare below bumper mount Hella TTG 118's.
    What year is your car?

    Thanks for clarifying the scammer.

My car is 302596, builit Nov '65. I believe I a have a proper bumper, just need the lights. Or are these correct?: http://www.sierramadrecollection.com...detail&p=11661. The size and shape seems about right, but the mounting bolt seems to come off the top, but looking at the bumper it seems to me it should come off the back?

You want hella 128s which mount on top. Originally your 65 had tungsten bulb 128s with the V lenses. Now they sell a halogen bulb 128 with V lens. You can tell a tungsten bulb 128 by the big shield in front of the bulb.

    bumper

I am always in favor of people using anything on their car that they enjoy. However I am sure no one was making that bumper in 1965. Its a LWB S bumper style that the factory brought out in approx. 1971 in either steel ( factory ) or fiberglass (aftermarket ). You also need to redirect your lights since it looks like they are pointing at the ground about 2 feet in front of your car.

I had a fiberglass "S" LWB style bumper on my SWB when I bought my car 5 years ago. First thing I did was ditch that thing.

I totally agree, and hence am gathering the parts to switch it back to the factory stock look. But the original owner (I'm the 2nd) made this switch in the early '70's and kept that look right until his passing in 2012. As well, the car appeared in the early '90's in a book exactly as preserved today - not many cars can be visually documented to be unchanged in over 20 years. This is why I want to retain all the pieces, right down to the taped lights in case I ever want to convert back again.

So, my last piece to collect are replacement lights, so I don't have to take the original tape off. Dumb perhaps but with the emphasis on not restoring/over-restoring, I just didn't want to do something that can't be reversed.
