    Glove box latch missing... latch

I now know why the PO had velcro on the back of the glove box door.

The latch looks fine from the outside but it has no "guts." I can't see a way to get the thing apart, so even if I buy a donor, I don't see how this works. I searched and found nothing on it...

The center inside has an extended lip that more than likely broke off. When you turn the latch the lip moves and causes the plastic latch catch to move down to allow the lock to disengage.
When this fails your glove box door will not open even though the lock turns. I carefully came up with a clever way to open the door without any damage to the door and dash.
Has anyone else had this failure?
