    Wheel tire advice - '72 T Targa

Hello. My car came with replica fuchs 185 65 15 wheels/tires. I have a set of standard real Fuchs 16s with 225/50/16 rear and 205/55/16 front which I installed on the car. Lots and Lots of fender rub especially in the rear and I think inner rub in front when the wheels are turned. Is there a way to get this/wheel tire set to work? It there is different tire size that would work on the 16s or for the 15s that you folks use? I believe the car has the stock suspension set up. I also have a set of 15 7s and 8s which are way too wide (have another project for these.) Cheers, Ravi.

I use 205/55-16 and 225-50-16 on my 16x7&8 Fuchs, but I have RS flares. The rear tires are very close to the fiberglass fenders and the fronts would rub on the point where the bumper and fender meet, but that is because of the fiberglass vs. steel I believe. My car is a bit low and has stiff suspension but it is still close. I think that is too much tire for stock fenders.
