    Benz's's'z'z's's's

Given the turn the latest 911 value thread took. It would appear we all have another common interest. I've had the pleasure of restoring 2 230 SL's in the past, and just picked up this 280C for myself. Also came with a CIS euro engine. I have a manual trans I'll be installing when I do the swap. Original 2 tone which seems to be rare for the 280C's. Got the French headlights from a guy in Germany

Do we need a BMW motorcycle thread too ?

I've owned a few 113 chassis, SL's...loved em, great to look at, somewhat fun to drive as a boulevard cruiser....mine were manual transmission cars, as I was looking for a more sporting oriented drive. But having guys around who really know these cars, mechanically and from at rust repair/avoidance point of view makes all the difference.....these are far more complicated cars than our early 911's...as always, finding the good ones is key to enjoying the experience.

Nice work, would love to see more photos.

    Love that green 230.

What do the Mercedes guru's call that all important crease in the inner portion of front fender on 113's that lines up with the corresponding mark on the chrome headlight bezel? The one that the novices always bondo over.
There HAS to be a name for it.

I've got a green 1969 W111 280 SE Coupé - 2.8 MFI. Lovely car. Too bad their values right now don't leave anything on the table to be bothered restoring it. Only the V8 cabriolets seem to bring the money.

I'm no Benz guru, but I believe it is called the fuckit line. That 230 had been mudded over just as you speak of. I had about 8 studs welded onto it to pull it, and the side of the bucket back into place
