Hmmm.... I just switched from Grundy to Chubb last year.
However I was with Grundy for quite a long time and had no trouble at all any time I wanted to increase my coverage... No questions, and no asking for appraisal.

Have you upgraded your car's photos with them?

I just recently switched to AAA and they required an appraisal as well. I found that agreed stated values over $50,000 usually require an appraisal by the underwriter. A few years ago when my SWB was worth 25K I didn't need an appraisal. I used Steve Linden for my appraisal. He will write the appraisal at the value you request as long as it makes sense. Costs about $150.

I called Chubb after Chuck recommended it in a different post and they were pretty easy to work with. I just sent them a description of the work that was done to the car, the garage where it is parked and recent pictures and that was it. Pretty good service on the sale/execution side.

I have been using Leland West for the past 11 years and have been very happy with them, just supplied them with pictures and an agreed upon value. The proof is in the pudding, my brother just had a claim with Leland on his '83 Targa (Flood Damage) and received a check 1 week later for full insured value!

Service on the sale and execution side… THAT is why I switched to Chubb several years ago... NOT just a number in the database...

Most of the collectible car insurance sources are "Brokers" except Chubb. Didn't know AAA had gotten into the fray.

Hagerty insures my collector cars. Give them a call or get a quote on line.
