    WTB: Steel Wheels

    Looking for a set of 6x15 steel wheels. Prefer early to mid 1971 date code. Would consider 5.5x15 and other date codes. Please PM me. Thanks.

    15 x 6 steel wheels were only offered on 72 year model 911s, thus no early 71 date stamps. Those wheels are rarer than chicken lips.

    I always used to think that was the case, but have had quite a few original KpZ 6in steel wheels over the years & they were certainly available up to & including 1980 (in Europe anyway).

    I don't know the application of the later-dated wheels - possibly as spare wheels ? - but they have the same part number stamped into the centre as the earlier ones (616 2A)

    I currently have a 1980-dated 6in wheel here - (apologies for the inferior picture):

    They are still quite rare however (although more readily available in Europe but still command a premium).
