    1970 Deck Lid

    I have a 1970 911T targa. Decklid has rust issues that are not repairable. What model years are a direct replacement for this lid? As I sort through used lids, what should I look for to make sure mine is period correct?

    Come on folks! A little help here. appears per catalogs/web sites that 69-73 are all interchangeable. correct? any other years fit a 1970?

    I would say yes 69-73. even later if you cut out the license light holes. Gled

    Jim and John at EASY had one from a '71 or '72 yesterday when I stopped by. Will be missing the PORSCHE letters though...

    In both of the photos below, the grey lid on the left is from mid '68-'69 with 2 center opening supports (bumps) for the 3-bar grill. The blue on the right I believe to be '70-'73(?) has the 6- support bumps for the 5 bar grill. The license plate light punch outs went away with the impact bumper '74 cars although the stampings remained.

    great post and pictures. thank you. any comments on interchangability/fit of the lids on different model years, besides the obvious grill difference? thank you
