1967 Porsche 911S
VIN: 307958
307958 was originally purchased by a member of the US Air Force while stationed in Germany in 1967. Just like the arrive-and-drive cars, this Porsche is an American export version. The 911S moved on to its second owner, a Californian, in 1977, who would keep the car for 23 years before deciding to do a full restoration.
From 2000-2004 the car underwent a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration. It was stripped down to the tub, and found to be rust and accident free. An amazingly complete and stock car to begin with, it was decided to restore the car exactly as it left the factory in March of 1967.
It debuted in September of 2004 to much acclaim at the German Auto Fest in Southern California. It made such a splash that Porsche selected 307958 to be featured on their stand at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show.
This is a matching numbers car with its original engine and transmission.

911 S 1967 and ...
Interesting. Heinz posted this car back in December when it was on Anamera. Marked sold there and was $200K asking.
Boy-yoy-yoy-ying . . . . .

That sure is a pretty car. This is all sinking in quite nicely Body is 469 before my car, 505 before my tranny, 543 before my block - just very mindless trivia.
I really dig seeing that Webasto exhaust along the side
Just read the Sam story. Now there is a cool way to get some provenance in the modern day.
cheers-
