A sad day to report on

Last Monday I delivered my 2.2 S to Autohaus Hamilton for sale consignment after 10 years 3 months ownership.
As some of you know,I have bought a 914-6 from deepest darkest Texas which is due to arrive Feb 4.
Unfortunately,as I have only one garage and one even skinnier budget,so one must go !
Scott has a good writeup on their site so have a look see there.
I have done what I have wanted to do with the 2.2 S and driven where I have wanted to go.
So maybe there is also an element of the 'seven year itch' involved.
Over the years,I have had a number of Porsches (and others) in my 'Lotto Garage'
    I am now able to tick off three - 1975 Carrera 2.7,1971 2.2 S and now a 1970 914-6.
I have had the 914-6 in the LG since 10 Sept 1969 so its about time !

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

1970 914-6 - materialised from the 'Lotto' garage into reality
    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.
One of us is fast becoming a valuable antique.

Best of luck with sale Dennis. It's a great car and should find a new home quickly.

I'm sure you're sad to see it go, but the 914-6 will be fantastic (I've always wanted one!) and perhaps it was time for a change.

    Db,

As one story closes another opens.

I'm quite excited about seeing the new purchase and if its half as good as the reports I have heard, it'll be stunning.

    Raj,
The sad part is that I don't have the resources, garage or $$$, to have both !
I estimate there would be less than 20 real -6s in the country - I will be investigating in due course !

    Cheers,
    Dennis

Dennis, you will def enjoy the 914-6, Raj is right, its a great trade. I just sold mine because i did not drive it that much, also just put up my 993 C2S for sale, for the same reason, but the good thing is that you can always say you had one, enjoyed it and moved on.
Your new 914-6 is a dandy, concgrats and enjoy.

Dennis get to know Ryan's friends Howard and Gary. They collectively know every nut and bolt in a 914-6 after rallying it for years. Ive know them to finish a days rallying and re-drill the jets in the webers to get better performance for the next day. Not something I'd approach lightheartedly…

Good luck with the sale, its a great car.
