hello i have a question i did search but cant get an answer im 100% sure of so here goes......what is the highest number as in the last 4 digits on a vin that a 1972 coupe can be?
911210xxxx what would the highest those numbers can go up to? thank you very much mike

Checking the "red book" I have the vin 911210xxxx listed as a 911T and the highest chassis number at 2931.

Of that series, it looks to me like 2931

I agree that 2931 is supposed to be the last one. There is at least one number that is much higher that was reported, but may be a typo. If you have any documentation on anything higher than 2931 then please let me know.

I was asking about a car with a number that had a number of 3xxx. Do ROW cars figure in the mix or are they separate?..

Mike, yes ROW cars and their engines are included where appropriate. I have heard of a 3xxx engine before, but it is so far off of everything else I would have to assume that either it was a wild typo or a fake serial. In any case you would need to be very cautious. It is always better to ask here than to risk your money.
